In our clinical research program, we have more than 10¬†active clinical research studies (also called ‘clinical trials’) at any given time point.¬† Our studies cover a broad spectrum of topics in transplantation and immunology. For example, we may ask patients for blood and urine for experiments, performed in the lab, which study the immune system and how it functions under different conditions or manipulations, or, we may ask patients to participate in a more complex treatment study, such as looking at the safety and efficacy of a new immunosuppressant drug that may prove to work better than existing drugs, with have fewer side effects or safety concerns.
